Mr. Riser is a member of the North Carolina State Bar; the Georgia State Bar; the American Bar Association's Section on Business Law; Section on Taxation; and Section on Real Property Probate and Trust Law (Vice-Chair, Asset Protection Planning Committee); and the Law Society of England& Wales.

Mr. Riser is the author, along with his law partner, Jay Adkisson, of " Asset Protection: Concepts and Strategies" (McGraw-Hill, 2004).

Mr. Riser's numerous articles have appeared in leading professional journals and he has been quoted widely in national financial and professional media. He regularly teaches professional education courses on asset protection planning and advanced estate planning techniques.

Mr. Riser served as a Sergeant in the U.S. Army from 1987 to 1991 and is a combat veteran of the first Gulf War.
